I like being pushed out of my comfort zone a bit. I’ve never really incorporated metallics into my scrapbooking – but I’m so glad that this month’s blog hop theme was gold and silver, because it gave me the perfect chance to start exploring the gold colors that have been sitting in my craft stash!
I had actually recently purchased some of the gold Stampin’ Up! embossing powder, after seeing gorgeous handmade cards using this powder. I love using embossing powder on Project Life cards, and this gold powder is now one of my favorites.
I used both the gold embossing powder and blushing bride pink embossing powder on this title page for my newborn daughter’s Project Life album. Gold paper was easy to use with my punches to punch out the chevron and circle shapes.
This card is my absolute favorite card from my favorite Stampin’ Up! – Project Life collection – “Moments Like These”, designed by Liz Tamanaha. The “hello” stamp is a recent new favorite from Stampin’ Up! that I LOVE using on a first page for an album.
This kit is so versatile, I’ve used it for everything from newborn photos to Disneyland photos. And speaking of Disneyland…
Here’s how I used the Moments Like These cards again, for a Disneyland page.
I used the coordinating stamp set to stamp some black and gold stars on a plain white 3×4 card. (I replicated a card that came in the collection, which had all black stars on it.)
This page is part of a 2 page spread, where the other page is a traditional 12×12 page, using other Stampin’ Up! gold washi tape, stamps and gold stickers that I used for the word “disney” from the Moments Like These accessory kit.
Finally, I used some stamps and gold embossing powder, gold vellum paper, and cards from a few different collections to create this 2 page spread of my older daughter. This vellum paper is now one of my go-to items for scrapbooking!
Now make sure to hop around to see what the rest of the team created with metallics!

Love Love Love your pages! I love how versatile this kit is too … sorta in love with that coffee page! I love how you used the 4 3×4 pockets for emma 🙂
Thanks so much! I wasn’t sure if it was a bit too silly to scrapbook a whole page for a coffee, so I’m glad to hear that you like it. 🙂
Gorgeous! The metallic touches are perfect with your photos 🙂
Your pages are gorgeous! SO inspiring. Thank So!
Thanks so much! I hope they give you lots of ideas for your own scrapbooking!
